Topaz ~

This little gem is a delight!

The topaz is the chunk on the right.  It's about the size of a large sugar cube and completely colourless and transparent. The bit on the left, which looks like folded tissue, is stilbite

This piece is a complete contrast:

It's the more expected colour of topaz, a rich orangey gold, but lacks the transparency of the colourless one so is of lesser quality as a gem.

Both pieces are small - about the size of large sugar cubes.

Topaz is a silicate mineral.
